In from the Garden

While my parents were visiting last week, we spent a few days getting my garden summer-worthy. (Before + after pictures will be posted soon.) Since then I’ve been in a “flowery” mood. I’ve had my eye on this lovely C.R. Laine chair, upholstered in a hand-loomed embroidered wool-on-cotton crewel inspired by the flower gardens of Staffordshire England. And so it–combined with that aforementioned flowery mood–inspired the Swatchbook of the Week. Use soft primary colors then add small punches of richer hues like grassy green and rosey reds for an elegant English-garden-inspired look. (-Allie)

[Clockwise from top left:] Paints, Sweet Butter, Mascarpone, Stem Green, Sweet Taffy and Raspberry Pudding, Ben by Benjamin Moore. Sun Wall Mirror (24” diam), $129 at West Elm. Cotswold Watering Can, $148 at Jayson Home & Garden. Scroll Platinum Micro Hooked Rug (5’x8’), $330 at Dash & Albert. Sherwood Table, by Arteriors Home, $547 at Inside Avenue. Charm Chair with hand-stitched crewel upholstery (worth every penny!), $1,566 by C.R. Laine. English Rose Cushion Cover, $140 by Isolyn.
