Flock to It

DO_Lamp

Sure, $635 for a table lamp may be a bit of a stretch in today’s economy. But $635 for a gilted gold flamingo lamp? Now that’s a steal. (OK, maybe not, but I’m obsessing anyway.) (-Allie)

Punchy Nautical

Elum BougainvilliaThis week’s swatchbook is inspired by one of my favorite stationery companies, Elum Designs. They always choose the most unique and beautiful color combinations, and their Botanical Bloom collection just called to me when I saw it at the Stationery Show a few months ago. I love how the hot pink spices up the nautical navy and white, but that peachy/sandy color tones it down. If you play with the proportions, this could be another his-and-hers palette: pick big pieces in white and navy, ground it with sandy tones, and weave in the pink with a pillow or fresh bouquet. Extra, Extra Read All About It

DO_doily

Recycling newspapers just took on a whole new meaning—and the traditional doily just got a whole new look. Because they are made out of paper, these coasters aren’t meant to last a lifetime, but each set packs in 100 of ’em, so you’re at least set for a while. (-Allie)

Doily News Coasters, $16 a set, at Charles & Marie.

Sleeping Beauty

DO_quilt

This bedding is part of Garnet Hill’s new collection for fall and I’m DYING for it. It has that vintage grandma’s-quilt sort of feel, but the colors are so fresh, and the orderly polka dots create a modern pattern. Grandma’s quilt for the new millennium. (-Allie)

Johanna Quilt (queen), $238 and Sham (standard), $42 from Garnet Hill.
