I’ve long been a Francophile (looooong) and am intrinsically drawn to anything that evokes the romance of Parisian style. Unfortunately the look tends to be a bit too romantic (read: girly) for my shared abode (pshaw — dudes). But this jute rug has a nice gender-neutral appeal. Now if only I could pair it with an ornate over-sized chandelier draped in pink crystals… (-Allie)

You know, it’s nice to be on vacation right now (greetings from sunny Florida!), but come Monday, I’m going to need a way to hold on to that easy-breezy spirit. Maybe this stapler will do the trick – pretty hard to feel stressed when you’re collating your memos with a clown fish stapler. (-Moe)
Orange Clown Fish Stapler, $15, Pylones.
A little-known secret about me is that I have a candle problem. Three drawers of my credenza are filled with assorted candles. Along with my love for candles, I love cute ways to use them — like this blue ceramic candlestick platter. So chic and simple as a centerpiece! (-Allie)

Killing time at the newsstand at your local airport? Check out the latest issue of Ty Pennington at Home that Allie and I contributed to (cover shot to come soon)! We’ve got everyone’s favorite two columns: high/low versions of your guest bedroom:
And three very different rooms centered around a fireplace.
Which of these three is your favorite? Pick up the hard copy for a closer look! (-Moe)
My love for rugs continues! Check out the whole collection through the link below, but here’s a gorgeous one from Angela Adams – the cool color combo and unexpected shapes makes this one at home in both modern and more traditional rooms. (-Moe)

Merry Christmas! In honor of the holiday (i.e. “vacation”) I’m not posting a full Swatchbook of the Week. But I will share with you three Christmas-decor looks that I recently compiled for AOL’s ShelterPop: country chic, retro and glam. (Click styles for a link to each story, with resources.) Which one is your favorite? May your day be merry, bright and–of course–stylish. With love, Allie.
MERRY CHRISTMAS! Some of my best memories involve the holidays with my friends and family. And this year is no exception. I’ll be sure to document as much as I can with my ordinary digital camera — but how great would it be to bring back the old-school polaroids with modern-day memories? This Fujifilm camera would be amazing to have on hand today, and for the coming New Year’s celebration. May all your memories today be photo worthy. (-Allie)
