Hot Pots

No matter how hard I’ve tried in the past, most attempts at gardening have ended in pathetic failure.  Easy-to-grow herbs?  Errr, more like dried leaves all over the countertop.  Even plants that require almost no maintenance have managed to shrivel under my care.  I finally vowed to give up urban gardening when a tomato plant I dutifully cared for all summer produced only three microscopic, inedible fruits.  But after stopping by the Perch! Design booth (go Brooklyn!) at the Gift Show yesterday, I might have to reconsider that vow.  These gorgeous, delicate mini-pots are perfect for hard to destroy little plants, like succulents.  I’m hoping that any plant encased in something this beautiful will have a strong will to live.  (-Laur)
