Reading Russian

I’ve been reading Tolstoy’s masterpiece “Anne Karenina” for hmmmm, the last year.  It sits on my bedside table beckoning me to pick it up, but I’m always distracted by shorter, less involved reads.  Being 838 pages long, it’s not the type of thing you can throw in your bag to read on the subway!  I think if a room like this existed in my apartment—cozy and regal with a big leather chair and sheepskin rug (and snow falling out the window)—I’d spent every free moment soaking up amazing literature, especially the kind that combines schmancy, upper-crust 19th-century Russian society with illicit affairs of the heart.
